DMM Kariyushi Aquarium

The DMM Kariyushi Aquarium is a modern facility in Toyosaki that combines marine exhibits with digital displays and interactive screens. The space houses both tropical fish and whale sharks alongside freshwater species in multiple tanks and viewing areas.

This aquarium opened in 2020 after renovations were made to meet current requirements. The facility came into being during a challenging year for many places worldwide, marking an important addition to the region's attractions.

The exhibits show freshwater and marine species that reflect how people in Okinawa have always depended on and lived alongside their waters. Walking through the displays, you notice how this connection shapes the way locals view their surroundings.

The aquarium sits inside the iias Okinawa Toyosaki shopping complex and is easy to reach by car with parking available on site. Visiting on quieter weekdays often means more room to move through the different exhibit areas.

A standout feature is the glass floor where visitors walk while marine creatures swim beneath them. This unusual viewpoint lets you see the animals from below, which catches many people by surprise.
