松源寺

Shogenji Temple stands on elevated ground in Takamori, featuring traditional Japanese Buddhist architecture with a main hall and distinctive gate.

The temple, established in 1562 by Zen master Gekko Genshi, who later served multiple terms as the head priest of Myoshinji Temple.

The temple follows the Rinzai school of Zen Buddhism, maintaining practices of meditation and spiritual guidance for the local community.

Located in Nagano Prefecture's Shimoina District, the temple welcomes visitors throughout the year and holds regular meditation sessions.

The temple gate was relocated from the residence of the 16th Tokugawa shogunate leader, Tokugawa Ietsato, during the Meiji period.
