Awashima Marine Park

Located in Suruga Bay, the marine park spans across an island with a 2.5-kilometer perimeter, featuring multiple marine exhibits and observation areas.

The marine park initiated its operations in July 1963, transforming the previously uninhabited Awashima Island into a destination for marine education and entertainment.

The facility maintains Japan's most extensive frog pavilion, displaying 60 species from around the world, reflecting the nation's dedication to wildlife preservation.

Visitors access the park via shuttle boats departing every 15 minutes from mainland Numazu, with admission prices of 3,000 yen for adults and 1,500 yen for children.

The park includes large sea pens where dolphins swim freely in open water, allowing them to maintain natural behaviors within their marine environment.
