Kōgen-ji

Kōgen-ji is a Buddhist temple in Mukōgaoka with traditional Japanese buildings whose wooden supports and architectural details show classical Buddhist craftsmanship. The structure comprises several prayer halls and rooms arranged according to timeless design principles.

The temple was founded in 1589 by Sengoku Hidehisa and quickly became an important religious center in the late 1500s. Its establishment reflected the growing importance of the Shingon tradition during that era.
