りすた, Public facility in Yubari, Japan.
Resta is a public facility in Yubari that combines a bus terminal, library services, community center functions, childcare support facilities, and municipal offices under a single-story roof. The building's trapezoidal design integrates transportation connections and municipal services within the Shimizusawa district.
The facility opened in 2019 after the city's coal mining economy ended and left the region struggling. It became part of Yubari's effort to concentrate essential services and create new gathering spaces for residents.
The building offers spaces for activities that bring together different age groups, with reading areas, workshops, and rotating displays of locally made products.
The building is easy to reach by bus, which stops directly at the terminal, and all services are on a single level without stairs. Parking and walking paths to nearby wooded areas make it convenient to arrive and spend time there.
The interior is designed with generous south-facing windows that bring natural light deep into the building. This opening creates a visual link between the bus terminal and the wooded area to the north.
