天塩大橋

The Tenshio Bridge is a steel structure that connects two communities in northern Hokkaido and spans approximately 516 meters across the water. The structure features multiple steel girders and provides both a roadway and a pedestrian path for daily use.

This bridge was constructed starting in 2016 and completed in 2019, replacing an older structure. The project was part of development initiatives to improve transportation connections in the region.

The bridge serves as a meeting point between the communities of Teshio and Horonobe, hosting local events throughout the year.

The bridge is accessible via National Route 40 and accommodates both cars and pedestrians. Be aware of winter conditions, which are common in this northern area and can affect visibility.

The design incorporates special measures against winter storms, which are severe in this northern region. These features make the structure an example of infrastructure adapted to local weather conditions.
