Jašiūnai Manor, Neoclassical manor in Šalčininkai District Municipality, Lithuania
Jašiūnai Manor is a neoclassical building on the banks of the Merkys River, featuring symmetrical facades and classical columns set in white stone. It is surrounded by a park that preserves original garden layouts from the 19th century.
The manor was built between 1824 and 1828, commissioned by Jan Śniadecki, rector of Vilnius University. Its creation coincided with a period of intense cultural exchange between Lithuania and Poland.
The manor served as a meeting place for Lithuanian and Polish intellectuals who gathered here to exchange ideas and engage in cultural discussions. The rooms still reflect this role as a center for intellectual exchange.
Visitors can explore the main building and the surrounding park to view the historical room furnishings and garden spaces. The riverbank location provides natural orientation points and easy pedestrian access.
The manor houses a collection of period furniture spanning different eras that document the inhabitants' way of life. A functional ceramic workshop on site continues to use traditional production methods that have been maintained for generations.
