The mosque is a wooden prayer house in the village of Keturiasdešimt Totorių in Vilnius District and displays traditional architectural features from the 19th century. The building serves as an active house of worship for the Tatar community in the region.

The settlement was founded after Grand Duke Vytautas brought Tatars to the area following a military campaign in the Crimea. The building itself was constructed in the early 19th century and stands as a testament to this early arrival.

Lithuanian Tatars practice their faith in this wooden building and speak Lithuanian, creating a distinct cultural identity within the local community.

The village name literally means Forty Tatars and recalls a group of about 42 Tatar families who lived there in 1630. This name is a direct testimony to the early and stable presence of this community in the region.
