Šumskas Manor

Šumskas Manor is an estate in Vilnius District featuring a main palace with a rectangular layout and a raised upper floor topped by a central porch held up by four Doric columns. The complex includes several outbuildings arranged around the main house that reflect the layout of a working estate from that era.

The Šumskis family acquired land here in 1618 and named the area after themselves, but the palace as it stands today was built in 1914. This later construction date shows how the family modernized their estate in the early 20th century.

The manor reflects the architectural taste of Lithuanian nobility, with classical elements that reveal how the wealthy families of the time chose to display their status. The way the building is designed shows how much the owners valued order and impressive presentation.
