Paula Stradin̦a Medicīnas vēstures muzejs, Medical history museum in Riga, Latvia.

The Paula Stradiina Museum of Medical History is a collection of over 200,000 objects displaying medical instruments, equipment, and tools from different periods of medical advancement. The exhibits range from ancient healing implements to modern medical innovations, documenting how medicine has developed and changed.

The museum was founded in 1957 by Professor Pauls Stradiina, who gathered a collection to document the development of medicine over time. Since then, it has grown into an important institution showing how medical practices changed from ancient times to the present day.

The exhibits display how people once understood illness and recovery through medieval pharmacy setups and healing instruments from different cultures. These collections show the role that traditional practices played in everyday life and how communities cared for their sick.

The museum is located centrally in Riga and is open Tuesday through Sunday, with extended hours until 19:00 on Thursdays. Visitors should allow plenty of time to explore the extensive collection, as the exhibits contain detailed information about medical history.

The museum displays a preserved two-headed dog specimen that resulted from experimental surgery by Soviet scientist Demikhov. This specimen shows the bold attempts made in Soviet space medicine research during the 1950s.
