Museum of Romans Suta and Aleksandra Belcova

This museum occupies a fifth-floor apartment on Elizabetes Street and displays paintings, sketches, and personal objects created and owned by Romans Suta and Aleksandra Belcova. The collection remains arranged within their former residence, preserving the relationship between the artists' work and their living quarters.

The institution opened in 2008 when Tatjana Suta, the artists' daughter, brought together their collection and converted their former home into a public space. This effort secured the artistic legacy for future audiences and saved the residence from obscurity.

The apartment reflects the working life of two artists who shared creative energy during Latvia's modernist period, with their works and surroundings showing how artistic couples inhabited their spaces. Visitors can observe the physical traces of their practice and how they organized their daily environment.
