Lizums Manor

Lizums Manor is a two-story manor house featuring English Neo-Gothic architecture with an octagonal tower and ornamental stonework on its facade. The building displays the hallmarks of Gothic Revival style with careful attention to decorative architectural detail.

Baron von Wolf bought the property in 1836 and commissioned the current building on the grounds of an earlier estate. Since 1937, the structure has served as a secondary school, becoming a central institution in the Lizums landscape.

The Blue Hall, also called the Hunters' Hall, shows interior decoration designed following Gothic Revival principles. The room reveals how craftsmanship and architecture worked together in the 19th century.

The building now houses Lizums Secondary School and can be viewed from the outside, where the Gothic Revival architecture is clearly visible. Keep in mind this is an active school campus, so interior spaces are typically not open to the public.

The estate continues to blend educational use with historical architecture while maintaining the original Gothic Revival features. This dual purpose shows how historic buildings can adapt to modern needs without losing their character.
