Gaiziņkalns Nature Park

The protected area spans 20 square kilometers across the Vidzeme Uplands, containing half of Latvia's 25 highest peaks above 270 meters.

The summit protection measures began in 1957, followed by complete hill protection in 1977, leading to the nature park establishment in 1987.

The park includes ancient burial fields at Tropeli and Dzisli, along with historical estate borders and traditional roadways crossing the landscape.

Visitors can access facilities including a cafe, children's activities area, souvenir shop, guide services, and wireless internet throughout the grounds.

The nature park encompasses Gaiziņkalns, Latvia's highest point at 311.94 meters, offering views over four distinct slopes with specific names.
