ECI-centrale, Hydroelectric power station in Roermond, Netherlands
The ECI-centrale contains a Francis turbine system installed along the Roer River, generating electricity through water power technology.
Built in 1918 by NV Het Steel with two Francis turbines, the station was later acquired by Elektro Chemische Industrie in 1926.
The building represents Dutch industrial engineering, receiving national protection status as a Rijksmonument for its historical importance.
The power station currently produces green electricity for approximately 700 households in the Roermond region.
Fish ladders constructed in 2008 allow various fish species to return to their breeding grounds through the power station's water system.
