Stadhuis, Sneek, Town hall in Sneek, Netherlands
The Stadhuis building features stone walls, a carved facade, and an elevated entrance platform constructed in 1745 by stonemason Gerben Jelles Nauta.
Originally built in 1480, the town hall underwent multiple renovations between 1550 and 1763, including significant architectural modifications by A. Boeikema.
The entrance displays allegorical figures representing justice and freedom, alongside the Sneek coat of arms with a lion and wild man.
The building serves as the municipal hall for Súdwest-Fryslân, hosting council meetings and wedding ceremonies in the Grote Raadzaal.
The interior contains a helmet belonging to Grutte Pier and walls decorated with gold-leaf wallpaper depicting Chinese garden scenes.
