Bolenstein

Bolenstein is a medieval château situated on the western bank of the Vecht river, featuring a square roof structure with a turret and clock tower. The estate displays characteristic Dutch manor architecture with ornamental wrought iron gates and additional outbuildings positioned throughout the grounds.

The château was built in the 14th century and has witnessed centuries of life along the Vecht. In 1825 it underwent major transformations that altered its original roofline and added the turret seen today.

The name refers to an old fortification, reflecting the medieval roots of this riverside estate. Visitors can observe how the structure blends different periods of building styles in its present form.

The property is located along the Bolensteinseweg in Maarssen and is easily visible from the Vecht riverbank. The surrounding area is accessible for walking and offers views of the river and the landscaped grounds.
