Waag, Historical weigh house in Market Square, Netherlands

The building features a brick facade with a wooden pediment, large stone gates at the back, and stands directly behind the Delft town hall.

Constructed after the city fire of 1536, the Waag served as a municipal weighing facility for goods until 1960, with its facade displaying the year 1770.

The structure contains a preserved weighing scale from 1647 and displays stone plaques from both the Gold and Silver Smiths' Guild and Collegium Medico Pharmaceuticum.

Located at Markt 11, the building now functions as a cafe-restaurant where visitors can enjoy meals while observing the historical architectural elements.

This establishment marked a milestone in Dutch commerce by becoming the first cafe in the Netherlands to accept Bitcoin as payment.
