Vlietland

Vlietland spans 300 hectares between Leidschendam and Leiden, featuring extensive water surfaces surrounded by developing natural landscapes and recreational facilities.

The area transformed from a simple water body into a comprehensive recreation destination through the Dutch Lake Residence development initiative launched in January 2020.

The location serves as a central gathering point for residents of multiple surrounding cities, offering water sports, hiking trails, and outdoor activities throughout the year.

Visitors can access the area through the Rietpolderweg, with free parking available at Kniplaan's south side and the northern Pijlkruid parking lot.

The waters of Vlietland undergo safety testing every two weeks during summer months, while designated areas permit specific activities including nude recreation.
