Sacramentskerk, Catholic church in Armhoef district, Tilburg, Netherlands
The Sacramentskerk is a religious building in Tilburg completed in 1933, featuring a distinctive tower and front facades. The structure stands on Ringbaan Oost 180 with architectural elements typical of its era.
Architect Martinus van Beek designed this structure in Christocentric style and completed it between 1931 and 1933 during Tilburg's industrial growth period. The building underwent partial demolition in 2017, with the tower and front facade preserved.
The church once anchored faith and community life in the Armhoef neighborhood until services ended in 2005. Today its preserved exterior remains a reminder of the parish's past role in local religious practice.
The structure is visible from the outside, with the tower and facade serving as landmarks in the neighborhood. The interior now houses residential units and is not open to visitors.
The tower's green copper spire was removed in 1992 despite community objections, permanently altering the structure's appearance. This change remains visible today in the modified profile of the landmark.
