Toneelschuur

The project started in the late 1990s to create modern cultural spaces in the historic city center. Construction and renovation were completed in the early 2000s, combining preserved structures with contemporary design.

The venue is centrally located and easy to reach, with a spacious foyer connecting the different spaces. An on-site café offers refreshments before or after events.

The building features a distinctive slanted glass facade that lets passersby see into the theater and cinema spaces. The mix of materials like brick, timber, and copper shows how old and new construction methods were combined.
