Landgoed Het Lankheet, Medieval estate in Haaksbergen, Netherlands

The 500-hectare estate contains 390 hectares of forest, 50 hectares of agricultural land, 40 hectares of heath, and 15 hectares of reed filters.

The estate's irrigation system for hay meadows dates back to the 14th century, when small boats transported goods between Germany and Deventer via Buurserbeek.

The Labyrinth of Mallum, created by Scottish landscape artist Jim Buchanan, stands at the historic center of the estate near Eibergen.

Visitors can explore the estate through multiple cycling and walking routes, with trail maps and parking information available on the official website.

The estate features eighteen reed basins in a sawa system that processes 1.5 million cubic meters of water annually for natural purification.
