Alexandre Bache

Alexandre Bache château is part of the Eyckenlust estate and features Dutch architectural design with brick construction typical of regional manor houses. A moat surrounds the main building, and a separate gatehouse controls the formal entrance to the grounds.

The estate came into the De Jong family's ownership in 1745 and underwent substantial changes. Major renovations during the 1800s transformed the buildings into their current appearance.

The château represents how affluent families designed their homes in this region, with its moat and gatehouse reflecting local building traditions. These features remain visible markers of past social structures in the North Brabant landscape.

The estate is located on cycling routes and near the Zuid-Willemsvaart canal, making it easy to reach. Visitors can combine a visit here with outdoor activities along the waterway and countryside paths.

A canal built later cut through the original estate grounds, creating two distinct sections separated by water. This division remains visible today and changes how the site is perceived from different vantage points.
