Mariënkroon

Mariënkroon is a monastery complex in Heusden that includes the Abdijhof Conference Center, functioning as a gathering place for religious and social meetings. The site provides facilities for events and allows visitors to experience communal living in a structured environment.

The monastery was founded between 1382 and 1384 and served for centuries as a Cistercian institution. When the Eighty Years' War broke out, the community relocated to 's-Hertogenbosch in 1579 to escape destruction.

The place serves as a meeting point for people from different faiths and backgrounds to exchange ideas and share experiences. Visitors participate in programs that encourage dialogue and foster connections across various communities.

The site welcomes young adults between 20 and 30 years old who wish to join the community and stay on the grounds. Visitors should contact ahead since the place operates specialized programs designed for personal development and growth.

Since 2002, the site has operated as one of roughly 30 Focolare movement centers across the world. This international community focuses on combining spiritual growth with hands-on social engagement and action.
