Villa Casparus

Villa Casparus is a large residential building in Weesp with an ornate facade and numerous rooms arranged across multiple floors. The property now functions as an apartment complex while maintaining its original architectural character.

Construction began in 1897 under Amsterdam architect Abraham Salm, commissioned by the van Houten family. The building rose during a period when wealthy industrial families were investing heavily in the area.

The building shows Dutch architectural style from the late 1800s through its decorated facade and ornate details. This design reflects the prosperity of the family that built it.

The building is located in Weesp, east of Amsterdam, and is easily visible from the outside. Visitors should note that it is a residential complex, so only the exterior area is accessible.

The original property included a massive park designed by a renowned landscape architect. Together with greenhouses and stables, this garden once formed a complete country estate of considerable scale.
