Villa Casparus stands on Casparuslaan with a prominent facade, measuring 90 meters by 75 meters and containing 99 rooms across multiple floors.
Construction of Villa Casparus began in 1897 under Amsterdam architect Abraham Salm, commissioned by Casparus van Houten junior of the Van Houten company.
The villa represents Dutch architectural Eclecticism, combining various design elements that demonstrate the wealth and status of industrial leaders in the late 1800s.
The structure now functions as an apartment complex, maintaining its external architectural features while providing residential spaces in the Amsterdam metropolitan area.
The original property included a 26-hectare park designed by landscape architect Leonard A. Springer, with multiple outbuildings including a greenhouse and stables.
