Design Museum Den Bosch, Contemporary design museum in 's-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands.
The Design Museum Den Bosch is a museum in 's-Hertogenbosch dedicated to ceramics, jewelry, and design objects spanning many periods. It sits in the Palace Quarter and connects directly to the neighboring Noordbrabants Museum through an internal corridor.
The museum grew out of a municipal exhibition service and was formally established in 1972, building on an international exhibition held in 1956 by the Royal Academy for Art and Design. That earlier event helped shape the direction the institution would take in the following decades.
The museum places jewelry and design objects side by side to show how craft and art overlap in daily life. Visitors can see works from Dutch and international artists that treat ordinary objects as a form of personal expression.
The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday and is easy to find in the Palace Quarter near the city center. Only card payments are accepted, so it is worth checking before you arrive if you plan to pay at the entrance.
The museum holds a collection of teapots designed by artists including Kazimir Malevich and Cindy Sherman, alongside pieces from the Memphis Group. Many of these objects were never meant to be used for tea but were created purely as artistic statements.
