Huize Voorwijk

A lawyer and patriot named Wyncko Tonckels built this mansion in 1791 using inheritance funds from his uncle Warmolt Lunsingh. The structure emerged during a period when Drenthe attracted wealthy landowners who displayed their fortunes through such buildings.

The residence reflects the tastes of wealthy families in Drenthe during the late 1700s, with architectural details typical of that era.
