Diyalo Bangala, Royal palace in Bharatpur, Nepal
The Diyalo Bangala Palace covers 52 bighas of land and features architectural elements characteristic of 1960s Nepalese construction methods and royal preferences.
King Mahendra commissioned the construction of Diyalo Bangala in 1962, and the palace later became significant as the location where he passed away in 1972.
The Nepal Trust maintains this former royal residence, which now stands as a testament to the administrative heritage of Nepal's monarchy.
Visitors can access the palace through the main entrance in Bharatpur Ward No. 1, with guided tours available to explore the interior spaces.
The palace earned its nickname 'Winter Palace' due to its function as a seasonal residence for the royal family during colder months.
