Diyalo Bangala

Diyalo Bangala is a royal palace in Bharatpur that spreads across a large estate with multiple buildings and courtyards. The structures reflect 1960s construction methods and contain both formal reception halls and private residential quarters for the royal family.

King Mahendra ordered the construction of this palace in 1962 and used it as a winter retreat for the royal family. The estate later became historically significant after a member of the ruling family died there.

This residence served as a center of royal life and shows how Nepal's ruling family organized their private and administrative spaces. Visitors can walk through the rooms and understand how the monarchy lived and conducted business in a single location.
