Bojanowo

Bojanowo is a small town located in Greater Poland Voivodeship in the western part of the region. It covers a limited area and sits at a modest elevation surrounded by typical countryside landscape.

The town received official city rights in 1638 and grew into an important trading hub for merchants. Jewish traders became particularly active in the settlement, dealing primarily in fabrics and leather goods.

A synagogue was built in the late 1700s to serve the Jewish community that had settled here over generations. Its construction reflected the town's role as a place where different religious groups coexisted and contributed to local life.

The town is compact and can be explored on foot without difficulty. The main areas are easily accessible and the layout becomes clear quickly while walking around.

Jewish artisans in the town provided services to Christian residents despite opposition from traditional craft guilds in the area. This form of economic cooperation across religious lines was notable for its time and shows how communities adapted.
