Krzywy Domek, Postmodern building in Sopot, Poland

Krzywy Domek is a postmodern building in Sopot with curved walls and undulating windows that create a distorted appearance. The structure features a green roof with lights, emerald shutters, and iridescent glass panels across its facade.

The building was completed in 2004 as part of the Rezydent shopping center development, marking a turning point in Sopot's modern architecture. The architects Szotyńscy and Zaleski drew inspiration from illustrations by artists including Jan Marcin Szancer and Per Dahlberg.

The building's name comes from the Polish word for 'crooked cottage,' reflecting how locals see this playful structure in their city.

The building sits at the intersection of Monte Cassino and Morska Streets and contains retail shops, restaurants, and entertainment spaces spread across multiple levels. Its many entrances and open areas make navigation straightforward, and you can freely look around to explore the interior design at any time.

The lights adorning the roof become a striking backdrop after sunset, transforming the structure into an evening landmark throughout the city. This nocturnal transformation is visible from many spots in Sopot and draws photographers and night-time visitors.
