Palace of the Four Winds, Baroque palace in Long Street, Warsaw, Poland

The Palace of the Four Winds is a Baroque structure on Long Street featuring two lateral wings with ornate detailing throughout. The entrance displays decorative sculptures and fence posts adorned with wind motifs.

The palace was built in 1680 by architect Tylman van Gameren for official Stanisław Kleinpolt. Over the 18th century, it changed hands several times among different owners.

The palace functioned as an upscale hotel from 1808 to 1914, drawing travelers from across Europe to its rooms in Warsaw's historic center. Today it carries the memory of that chapter in the life of the city.

The palace is located on Long Street with convenient access to several public transportation stops nearby. It sits within easy walking distance of Warsaw's main central attractions.

German forces deliberately set the building on fire in 1944 following the Warsaw Uprising. This act destroyed much of its original architectural form and marks a tragic chapter in its past.
