Bożków Palace, Renaissance château in Bożków, Poland.
Bożków Palace is a Renaissance château in the village of the same name in Lower Silesian Voivodeship, Poland. The building spreads across two floors with formal staircases, a double-height ballroom, and richly decorated rooms that combine several architectural periods.
The estate was built in 1560 as a Renaissance residence and renovated between 1787 and 1792 by the von Magnis family in Late Baroque and Palladian Neoclassical styles. The transformation gave the building its current form with formal interiors and a double-height ballroom.
The interiors show wood paneling from the Renaissance period, while the stucco work and tile stoves reflect later renovations under the counts von Magnis. Hunting motifs in the carvings recall its use as a country seat and starting point for forest hunts in the surrounding hills.
The estate sits in the Kłodzko Valley, roughly 35 kilometers from Kłodzko and 50 kilometers from Wałbrzych. A visit can be combined with walks in the surrounding hills or a climb to the nearby observation tower on Grodziszcze mountain.
The French-style landscape park reaches up to Grodziszcze mountain, where an observation tower from the von Magnis era offers a panoramic view over the valley. A garden pavilion and remnants of the former hunting grounds recall the leisure activities of past residents.
