Starowa Góra, Agricultural village in Gmina Rzgów, Poland
Starowa Góra is an agricultural village near Łódź that spreads across several kilometers in central Poland. The settlement has a main street called Centralna and is surrounded by farmland and residential properties typical of rural communities in this region.
The village was founded between the 18th and 19th centuries when Prussian authorities established it as Effingshausen following Poland's second partition in 1793. This early founding period shaped the settlement's original structure and long-term growth.
The metal cross at the intersection of Centralna and Gruntowa streets was made from a tank barrel, showing how war materials were transformed into local symbols.
The village is easily accessible and located between Rzgów and Łódź with good road connections for visitors. The best time to explore is during warmer months when the countryside is greenest and pathways are most passable.
In the 1970s the area underwent significant transformation through greenhouse development for specialized agriculture. This agricultural project combined modern growing techniques with the region's farming traditions.
