Mirów Castle

Located on a limestone hill, the castle complex consists of two main sections with a trapezoidal upper castle and a fortified lower section.

Built in the 14th century during King Casimir the Great's reign, the castle served as a protective fortress along Poland's western border until 1787.

The castle forms part of the Eagles Nests Trail, a sequence of medieval castles situated on limestone cliffs through the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland.

The structure remains closed to visitors due to security concerns and ongoing restoration work, though exterior viewing remains possible throughout the year.

The castle features a distinct five-story tower house with wooden floor separations, connected by defensive walls to the eastern section of the complex.
