Czerna is a village in Lesser Poland Voivodeship situated in Gmina Krzeszowice at about 352 meters elevation. The settlement is defined by the Monastery of Discalced Carmelites and Saint Elijah church at its core.
The monastery was established in earlier centuries through support from noblewoman Agnieszka Tęczyńska. This foundation connected the place to the Carmelite religious movement and shaped its long-term development.
The monastery and church form the religious heart of the community and shape daily life for residents. Faith runs deep in local customs and traditions here.
The village sits roughly 26 kilometers northwest of Kraków and connects easily to the city. John Paul II International Airport is about 15 kilometers away.
The village holds the burial site of General Aleksander Błędowski, funded by General Stanisław Klicki. This memorial ties the place to Polish military heritage.
