Collegiate church in Wiślica

The Collegiate Church is a Gothic structure with a polygonal choir, star and rib vaults decorated with coats of arms and medieval wall paintings. The building displays the typical features of late medieval architecture with thick stone walls and carefully designed interior spaces.

The current building rose between 1350 and 1370 under King Casimir III and replaced two earlier Romanesque structures on the site. This Gothic construction was part of royal investment in the kingdom's religious and civic infrastructure during that era.

The floor features tombstones with coats of arms and inscriptions that reflect local families and their ties to the community. These stone memorials help visitors understand the social structures and traditions of medieval residents.

The building sits near the main square on Kościelna Street and is easy to reach on foot. Visitors can attend services or arrange guided tours to learn more about the architecture and artworks throughout the year.

Inside stands a stone Madonna statue from 1300 called Łokietkowa, linked to Prince Władysław who prayed there during important moments. This work is a quiet testament to royal devotion and personal prayer during pivotal periods of the realm.
