Building of the National Museum

The Building of the National Museum is a large art museum in Kraków with modern and monumental architectural features, including expansive windows and symmetrically arranged wings across multiple levels. Construction began in 1934 but was interrupted by World War II and finally completed in 1992 following Poland's political transformation. This extended building period reflects the turbulent history the country experienced.

The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday, so you can visit on weekdays or weekends depending on your schedule. When you arrive, take a moment to understand the layout since galleries are spread across multiple floors.

The building houses a large collection of armor and weapons from different periods, showing how military equipment evolved across the centuries. This collection is one of the most complete of its kind and demonstrates the craftsmanship and technology of various eras.
