Gościniec, Village in Gmina Chęciny, Poland
Gościniec is a small village in the Gmina Chęciny, within the Kielce district in the Świętokrzyskie region of Poland. It consists of farmhouses and rural properties along narrow roads, surrounded by open fields.
Until 2023, Gościniec was considered part of the nearby settlement of Skiby before being recognized as a separate locality. The village was part of the Kielce voivodeship until the late 1990s, when administrative boundaries in Poland were reorganized.
The village sits close to Chęciny, making it easy to reach by car or on foot from the town center. The roads are narrow and sometimes unpaved, so comfortable footwear is a good idea if you plan to walk through.
The name Gościniec means something close to "country road" or "inn" in Polish, which may point to a past role as a stopping point for travelers. This type of name is found in several places across Poland, which can sometimes confuse visitors looking for this specific village.
