Nature reserve Szumny Zdrój, Nature reserve in Czarny Bryńsk, Poland
Nature Reserve Szumny Zdrój, named after Kazimierz Sulisławski, is a protected area within the Górznieńsko-Lidzbarski Landscape Park in northern Poland, situated on the slopes above Jezioro Młyńskie lake. The reserve shelters a mosaic of forest types, including maple-linden stands on the steep slopes and alder-ash groves along the watercourses, fed by natural springs with rocky beds.
The reserve was established in 1958, starting from a small area that was later expanded to over 37 hectares. It was named after Kazimierz Sulisławski, a former head forester of the region who had close ties to the local cultural and conservation history.
The area is open year-round with no entry fee, and a marked educational trail guides visitors through the main points of interest. Sturdy footwear is recommended, as the slopes are steep and the paths near the springs can be wet.
In spring, flowering wild garlic covers the forest floor in a white layer, which is rare this far north in Poland. The deep spring niches with rocky beds that gave the place its name remain active all year and produce a soft murmur that can be heard while walking the trail.
