Teatr Collegium Nobilium, Academic theatre in Warsaw, Poland.
The Teatr Collegium Nobilium is a theatre housed in a historic building at Miodowa 22/24 in Warsaw as part of the Aleksander Zelwerowicz State Theatre Academy. The venue serves as a performance space where student productions are staged regularly throughout the year.
The building was designed by architect Jakub Fontana in 1743 and initially served as an educational institution for noble families. Over centuries it evolved into the theatre academy that operates there today.
Students perform their graduation productions here, creating a direct connection between classroom training and actual stage work. You can observe young actors putting their education into practice in front of a real audience.
Plan ahead when visiting, since performances depend on the student production schedule which changes seasonally. Contacting the academy directly is the best way to find out what is currently showing.
The interior preserves architectural details from the 18th century that trace back to the original Jesuit school layout and design. Walking through the space, you experience both the old building bones and its contemporary use as a working theatre.
