Collegiate church of Transfiguration in Garwolin

The Collegiate Church of Transfiguration stands with brick walls, displaying neobaroque architecture with a three-nave design based on a Latin cross layout.

Following the destruction of an 1839 church, construction of the present structure began in 1890 and concluded in 1909, with consecration by Bishop Franciszek Jaczewski.

The church received its collegiate status in 2011 when Bishop Zbigniew Kiernikowski established the Garwolin Collegiate Chapter, elevating its ecclesiastical position.

The parish serves approximately 12,200 members with regular masses throughout the week and maintains vital records dating back to 1777 for community documentation.

Eight windows line the main nave, with four on each side, while the presbytery contains two windows, creating a balanced illumination throughout the structure.
