Church of St. John in Myślibórz

Church of St. John is a Gothic structure built with granite blocks and red bricks, featuring a central nave flanked by two aisles and topped with a square tower. The building displays the construction methods typical of medieval sacred architecture in this region.

The Knights Templar held the site until 1261, when Brandenburg margraves commissioned the first granite parish church during the 1260s. This early construction phase established the building's fundamental structure.

The church shifted to Protestant use in 1538, reflecting religious transformations that reshaped Pomerania at the time. This transition still marks how the building looks and functions today.

The building stands openly accessible in the town center and can be easily reached to explore its architectural features from both outside and inside. Plan enough time to observe the stonework details and interior layout carefully.

In the 1330s, the collegiate chapter received generous donations after backing a margrave in his dispute with the pope. This sudden wealth allowed for later modifications that shaped the building as visitors see it today.
