Saint Nicholas Cathedral stands as a brick structure with Gothic elements, featuring a starry vault in the chancel and a baroque high altar from 1662.
Duke Bolesław the Pious established the original church after 1253, which underwent several reconstructions and received cathedral status from Pope John Paul II in 1992.
The cathedral contains the Chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows with stained glass and polychromy created by Włodzimierz Tetmajer in 1909.
