St. Stanislaus Kostka Church

St. Stanislaus Kostka Church is a Neo-Romanesque structure with thick stone walls situated near Plac Wilsona. The building blends traditional Polish architectural features with broader European influences, creating a prominent profile in the neighborhood.

Construction of this church began in 1930 during Warsaw's expansion phase but was interrupted by events of World War II. Completion was delayed until 1963, reflecting the destructive impact of the war on the city.

The church is closely tied to Jerzy Popiełuszko, a priest who led worship services for Poland's independence movement during the 1980s. Visitors come to remember his faith and courage during a difficult period in the country's history.
