History
Construction began in 1910 under architect Stanisław Majerski and was completed in 1918. The building suffered severe damage from Nazi forces during their occupation of the region.
Culture
The interior walls and ceiling feature paintings of Biblical scenes and symbols from Eretz Israel, showing how the local Jewish community expressed their religious identity. These artworks remain visible today and shape how the space feels to visitors.
Practical
The building now operates as the Ignacy Krasicki Public Library and welcomes visitors to view its architecture. You can examine the exterior details and interior artistic elements at your own pace during library opening hours.
