Hala Targowa w Łomży

Hala Targowa w Łomża is a two-story market building with a large central hall and multiple vendor spaces for shops and local traders. The structure accommodates small businesses and traditional marketplace activity all under one roof.

The original building opened in 1929 and was designed by architect Zdzisław Świątkowski. After World War II, it underwent reconstruction between 1949 and 1950 to repair wartime damage.

The name reflects its role as a traditional marketplace where locals have gathered for shopping and daily commerce for decades. Today visitors can still observe this pattern as residents move through the space for errands and social interaction.

The building has separate entrances from the bus station and Dworcowa Street, making it easy to access by public transport. Good orientation inside helps with planning, as the structure has multiple floors and different areas.

The building underwent major renovation in 2021 and gained new functions including performance spaces and exhibition areas for cultural events. This expansion showed a commitment to keeping the historic structure alive for modern activities.
