The hospital at Konarskiego Street is a building with four large medical halls and various technical facilities. The layout allowed for treating multiple patients simultaneously in separate areas.
Construction of the hospital started in 1878 with the foundation stone and was completed in 1879. This brought a much-needed medical facility to the growing city.
The chapel inside was created by the local parish and provides a space for reflection for patients and staff. It shows how spirituality was woven into the daily life of the facility.
The building is located in central Sanok and is easy to reach on foot or by public transport. Keep in mind that this is an active hospital, so some areas may be restricted for visits.
During World War II, the hospital operated under the German name Kreiskrankenhaus and treated both military and civilian patients. It remained an important healthcare center for the community during that difficult period.
