The Shipwreck Conservation Centre is a maritime museum and conservation facility in Tczew that specializes in restoring and displaying shipwrecks and maritime objects. The facility features specialized workshops and exhibition areas where visitors can observe the ongoing work.
The center was founded in 2016 through collaboration between Polish institutions and international partners. This partnership made it possible to establish modern conservation techniques and preserve historical vessels.
The center displays historical boats and watercraft from different regions of Europe and Africa. Visitors can observe how traditional craftsmanship techniques are applied during the restoration of these vessels.
A visit requires no special preparation, and the center is accessible during regular opening hours from Tuesday through Friday. Guided tours and educational programs are available and designed for visitors of all ages.
Visitors can watch restoration work from a mezzanine level that overlooks the workshop areas directly. Special tours also allow visitors with visual impairments to tactilely explore the displays.
