Bismarck Tower is a 31 meter high structure with a rectangular base and an oval turret at its corner. The building functions as a water tower today and displays modern glass and aluminum elements added during a 2019 renovation.
The structure was built in 1912 and belongs to a network of around 240 towers erected across different regions to honor German Chancellor Otto von Bismarck. This building program spread an architectural memorial across a wide geographic area.
The structure shows architectural preferences from the early 1900s and stands as a central landmark in Bolesław Chrobrego Park. Visitors can observe the blend of historic brickwork with modern additions that characterize the building.
The site is located in the park and is easily accessible on foot. When visiting, be aware of the surroundings and respect the building's function as a water tower.
Between World War I and II, an aviation beacon was housed inside the structure, helping aircraft find their route between Berlin and Königsberg. This detail connects the building to early aviation history.
