Blewązka, zbiornik zaporowy
Blewązka is a reservoir located west of Kobyla Góra on the Wzgórza Ostrzeszowskie hills, created between 1972 and 1983 by damming the Meresznica stream. Spanning approximately 900 meters in length with a maximum width of 520 meters and reaching depths of about 7 meters, the roughly 18-hectare water body is surrounded by pine forest and features a sandy beach along its shoreline.
The reservoir was constructed between 1972 and 1983 as a water management project for the region. The area holds deeper historical significance, as in 1848 insurgents gathered here under the leadership of farmer Tomasz Sikorski from Ligota to hold meetings. A nearby Jewish cemetery established in the late 1700s preserves tombstones and markers documenting the area's diverse past.
The reservoir, also known as Zalew Kobyla Góra, serves as a gathering place for the local community. People come here to swim, fish, and participate in water sports, making it a social hub where families and friends spend leisure time together throughout the year.
Restaurants and cafes near the shore offer food and drinks for visitors. Boat rentals, sports facilities, camping areas, and a small hotel provide various options to suit different visit durations and activities.
The Orion sailing club based here offers windsurfing courses and sailing activities that draw water sports enthusiasts. The reservoir is regularly stocked with fish, particularly carp, making it a popular destination for anglers who fish throughout the seasons.
