Saints Cyril and Methodius Orthodox chapel in Warsaw

Saints Cyril and Methodius Orthodox chapel is a prayer space on the second floor of the Center for Orthodox Culture, constructed from brick in traditional Orthodox design. The interior features hand-painted saint images that decorate the walls and iconostasis, creating a focused environment for worship.

The chapel was established in 2012 as an academic space at a location where a theological chapel had previously stood between the world wars. The interior was later completed with artistic elements that transformed it into an established gathering place for Orthodox worship.

The chapel honors two 9th-century saints whose names reflect their role in spreading Christianity across Eastern Europe. The iconostasis displays holy images in Byzantine-Russian style, showing visitors the visual tradition central to Orthodox worship.

Visitors can attend morning and evening prayers on weekdays, with main services held on Sundays. Since the chapel is located within a cultural center, access follows standard building navigation and hours.

A Polish artist painted the chapel's interior decoration between 2014 and 2016, blending local craftsmanship with Orthodox tradition. This collaboration shows how different cultural perspectives come together in this sacred space.
